YSYSL Coach/Manager Risk Assessment Registration
For 2024, head and assistant coaches will receive player discounts once they complete the legal and safety requirements; coaches MUST complete the requirements before they can receive a roster or work with players. If we do not get registered coaches for players in an area, we may have to turn away or waitlist players that cannot be placed for lack of coaches.
We understand this is a challenge, but we are legally required to have coaches complete fingerprinting and background check before they can work with players. In prior years the system to do this was continually slow, so we are asking coaches to register early and get these done. We are now told by CalNorth that Background Checks will not be able to be done until June 1st, and Safe Sport can only be done within 60 days is the current expiration, which is early June for most returning coaches. Stay tuned - we will provide updates as we get them. We are 100% committed to getting properly registered coaches the player discounts they deserve for all their time and commitment.
In your coach registration instructions are discount codes and instructions for the Live Scan and Background Check. DO NOT pay out of pocket for these! After registering you will receive a confirmation email from YSYSL's coaching coordinator.
YSYSL coaches MUST complete registration requirements before they will be given rosters for a team. This includes fingerprinting; if a coach has been fingerprinted THROUGH YSYSL in prior seasons, only the other pieces (Background Check, Safe Sport and Intro to Safety, all required annually) may be necessary. If you need fingerprinting, we plan to have a Live Scan operator at Riverfront Park on specific dates, or you can contact our coach registrar (coachregistrar@yubasuttersoccer.com) to receive a pre-paid code and instructions to do it yourself. Stay tuned for more information - we will be combining the fingerprinting with coaching seminars and instruction on changes to the Laws of the Game and YSYSL rules.

2024 US Soccer Grassroots Coaching Courses
YSYSL is considering US Soccer Grassroots 7v7 and 9v9 hybrid courses in 2024 with the field session at Beckwourth Riverfront Park! These courses will have an online portion and a field session.
