YSYSL Information for Coaches
CalNorth, our state organization, and Yuba Sutter YSL encourage coaches to adopt the Play-Practice-Play philosophy for all ages and teams. We believe the more soccer athletes play, the more fun they will have while learning. To help with that, here are some coaching resources: The Mojo app (https://www.mojo.sport/) is available for Android and iPhone and comes with suggested practice activities, complete practice plans, and team communication tools. When registering, put in Yuba Sutter Youth Soccer League and the soccer tools are FREE.

Grassroots coaching courses are available from US Soccer in fully online, fully classroom/field, and a hybrid model.
New for 2022: we have adopted the Build-Out line for U8 & U10 games. This line makes it easier for young goalies to put the ball in play with less pressure and give more chances for players to touch the ball. Here's a quick video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYh1490n4TU
Our handouts for each age group are in our Coaches drop down menu, along with the YSYSL Modifications for the Laws of the Game (soccer rules). Please review them with your team (especially parents!) to answer questions.
